SHINE TODAY (FOR YOU)

As a new day dawns, I search for words to say,

And I will try to find a way to shine for you today,

You’ve now seen the ugly side of this dreaded disease,

A disorder that won’t allow my mind at ease,

The last few days I’ve struggled with myself,

But I’m clawing my way out of the depths of this hell,

I’m finding my way again,

But the fight still does remain,

I assure you this funk in no way reflects my feelings for you,

I’m in love with you and this heart of mine still beats true,

You are all that is beautiful and resplendent in my life,

Soon the clouds of depression will part along with this strife,

I will shine for you once more,

I just need to break down depression’s door,

I will not let this destroy what’s between you and me,

I can’t tell you enough how I love you, that I hope you see,

I will come alive again as I always do,

Just remember the love in my heart for you,

Please hold on and don’t let go,

Never doubt that I love you so,

So as this new day dawns, I’ve seemed to find some words to say,

Most important is I will try to find a way to shine for you today.
