ALL THE REASONS I DON’T (AND THE ONE WHY I DO)

There’s a reason why I love you,

And that reason is why my heart beats true,

It’s not the smile in your eyes,

That always leaves me hypnotized,

It’s not the gentle caress of your touch,

As I’m falling asleep at night and praise so much,

It’s not our banter back and forth,

Although you do like to analyze a lot, for what its worth,

It’s not because you love me in return,

We’ve got a fire between us I hope will forever burn,

It’s not how you are content just being with me,

A state of mind I pray will always be,

It’s not because of your wacky ways,

I too seem to have my days,

It’s not your beauty, outside and in,

That’s too easy and is such a given,

I could love you for many reasons including all these,

The thing I hope you and this world sees,

The reason my heart beats so true,

Is because I love you for just simply being you.
