You’ve created in me a better man,

I’ll strive to give you all of my heart that I can,

I can see a change in my thoughts and ways,

Your love I desire to feel each and every day,

Selfish I can no longer be,

For selflessness you bring to me,

Lying in your arms last night,

Just felt so amazingly right,

For years we’ve wandered alone,

Yet at ease I am for my heart’s found its home,

Sitting here now writing this rhyme,

Thinking of you and our time,

Once we shared those three little words, no longer is this day to day,

We must approach this as being in it for always,

These thirty-four years you’ve been right under my nose,

God had a plan for us I can only propose,

For it is one I will not question why,

He is far greater than you or I,

All I can do is thank Him for finally bringing to me my best friend,

A love, a friendship and a connection I shall cherish until my very end,

Which hopefully is nowhere near in sight,

For in you I see a light,

A path, a better way,

In you I find a brand new day.
