HELLO FROM A NIGHTMARE

In the dark of night is where I lurk,

Hidden amongst the shadows wearing this smirk,

For it’s time for you to drift away,

And my time to come out and play,

You can’t see me with eyes wide open,

Yet as soon as they shut, I am within,

Within your unconscious mind,

Tonight dreams so sweet you will not find,

I have a different, grim agenda for you,

Haunting and unraveling, it’s true,

I may come as a ghostly vision from the past,

Or maybe your deepest fears will greet you at last,

Worry not my stay will not endure,

I’m a passing vision, plain and pure,

Meant only to wake you into a scare,

Now do you see?

This evil behind me,

I am merely just a nightmare.
