TO MY VALENTINE

To my Valentine,

I’m glad you decided to be mine,

Love indeed deserves its own day,

However, one day is not enough to display,

I shall proffer it to you three hundred and sixty-five,

I promise to afford you my love each day I’m alive,

For you have given this heart reason,

Reason to beat and not just for a season,

A purpose to love you every day,

An intention to love you in every way,

On this our first Valentine’s Day together,

I promise to love you unconditionally forever,

For as long as there is a breath in me,

I will strive to help you see,

How you give this life of mine unimaginable meaning,

And this fervor in my heart that pulsates from within,

Just as Shakespeare once said, “love is my sin”,

So true the phrase as it pertains to our love,

And each day I pray to God above,

Not for forgiveness of our love being my sin,

Rather for giving me you, and the love you share with me from within,

Remember always that I LOVE YOU,

And with only you have I spoken those words so true.
