A GREAT ESCAPE

I want to love, I want to know,

I need you to show me how it’s supposed to go,

You and I, we’re off to a great start,

For no one has ever captured this heart,

In a fashion such as yours,

Isn’t funny how love just occurs?

I never expected it to happen so fast,

A funny feeling tells me it’s one that’s going to last,

For I’ve never felt something so true,

Each and every time I look at you,

You have shown me a new way of looking at things,

You have taught me what a new outlook brings,

I find a great escape within you,

In you, I have been freed too,

Freed from the chains of loneliness,

For you have given me the wonders of a new promise,

A promise of days to come,

A promise remiss by some,

Yet my mind is thoughtful of it all,

It was no accident that we took the fall,

Something was right amongst the stars,

A plan constructed by a mind far greater than ours,

Now I see,

A piece of you in me,

I only want the love you give me so true,

I can’t imagine this world without you,

This great escape, this path we are taking,

Let it lead us to His own making,

And along the way,
