A LETTER TO MOM

A LETTER TO MOM

She’s always seen the good in me, when others have not,

She knows who I am, when others have forgot,

She’s a woman, whose will is strong,

She has imperfections and is sometimes wrong,

But she knows these things and isn’t so self-righteous,

In a world where selfishness is contagious,

She gives of herself to others in times of need,

Her values are unyielding and wise to heed,

She’s misunderstood and scoffed by a select few,

Yet each Sunday she prays for them at her pew,

She’s there for me when I need her the most,

She’s proud in nature, but never does she boast,

I know that at the end of the day she lives in pain,

Yet bright and early the next morning she’s at it again,

She’s stood beside me during compromising situations,

She’s always there to let me vent my frustrations,

She’s my pop’s best friend,

And her love for him has no end,

Her love for all her family is simply quite special,

It does not wither nor stray, it’s unconditional,

We may have our differences in opinion and thought,

But she has integrity, something that cannot be bought,

I love her and there could never be another,

I will always stand up and be proud to call her my Mother.
