TRANSCENDENT

TRANSCENDENT

Oh what tragedies lurk beneath the cloak of love,

Such beautiful disguises I speak of,

Obscure to that of the naked eye,

Concealed by lies and forgotten promises it’s ever so sly,

This emotion can be cunning and rather covert,

The black veil camouflages the obviously overt,

Behind every lie is a truth not seen,

Canny in behavior if you will, love is keen,

Sensible yet strategic love can be quite discreet,

You may never notice its presence until it lands at your feet,

Shrouded in mystery, its devious ways will tear you apart,

So often naïve to them, it can easily fool the human heart,

For we are the only ones with the capability to express it,

Be warned though that when you fall it might be a bottomless pit,

Love is not always trivial and treacherous as this might sound,

For it can be absolute and often profound,

It can be downright splendid and transcendental for us all,

Ever waiting for you to step forward and take the fall…
