FRIEND TO FRIEND

Questions of the heart are weighing down your mind,

Seeking out the answers that you may never find,

Don’t let your phobias and fears consume you,

They only hold you back from running to what is true,

Feeling a sense of condemnation for having thoughts of contemplation,

For others are dependent upon you, even furthering the complication,

I know what it’s like to agonize and mull over a life-altering decision,

Like it is said “hindsight is 20/20” but the future is a clouded vision,

There is really not too much that I can say,

In regards to how and why you are feeling this way,

The one thing I can do is behind you stand,

And if ever you fall I’ll be right there with an outstretched hand,

I will always be a friend, in whom you can trust and confide,

I can be your sanctuary where you can go to hide,

I know how crazy this messed up world has become,

Just promise me that to its muddled ways you will not succumb,

Never surrender to it the innocence of your heart,

For it’s the light that guides you from out of the dark.
