MAYBE

Although I hurt I must go on,

Somehow, someway I’ve got to remain strong,

For this world will not pause for me,

Ever spinning leaving the weak to be,

When the sun rises on this the dawn of a new day,

Maybe this will be the one that brings about a new way,

Time to change and leave it all behind,

Seek a different direction and maybe I’ll find,

The answers to the questions my mind continues to ask,

And maybe I can learn from the regrets of the past,

Lessons of the heart,

Achieved by breaking it apart,

Maybe I’ll find the elusive fugitive known simply as love,

Maybe, just maybe it’s not a myth that others speak of,

Maybe there is a truth as to its existence,

But I cannot give up I must remain persistent,

Bound and determined in this my quest,

Ever relentless in my pursuit I will not rest,

Maybe today is the day that redefines me,

Perhaps I’ll find the change I’ve sought after, maybe just maybe.
