I LOVED A GIRL

I loved a girl,

Fell deep inside her world,

She helped me feel alive again,

Forgetting about past pain,

We were acquaintances from the past,

Passion so strong, I was sure it would last,

She made feel at ease at night,

Lying next to her just felt right,

She was a sign of hope for me,

So I let it be, oh how I let it be,

She gave me new reasons to smile,

Reassured me that living was worthwhile,

She’d gracefully slide her fingers across my chest,

Every night to ease my soul to rest,

I always looked forward to a new day,

For it held the promise of her in every way,

But for some reason she changed her mind,

Answers to questions I’ve yet to find,

She took away her love and broke this heart,

I only wish I knew why she had to part,

I use to call her friend,

Now I can’t even do that here at the end,

I don’t know where she is tonight in this world,

The only thing I’m sure of is that I loved this girl.
