You were always there, always there for me,

So tonight I’ll sing your song in fond memory,

So many years have passed,

Since I saw you last,

There’s always been this burning in my heart,

Ever since that unforgettable day when you did part,

Well I have learned to carry on,

Yet somehow a piece of you I carry along,

It’s your love that will remain with me forever,

Lessons learned, for my heart’s next endeavor,

I cannot blame you for breaking the vows we took,

I became lost and my entire being was shook,

Hurt is sometimes difficult to perceive,

But I see it now, amidst much regret,

I hurt us both to where neither one of us will forget,

I only hope that you can find it in your heart to forgive,

Because holding grudges is not a healthy way to live,

And I will forever miss you throughout the rest of my days,

We will meet again someday I’m quite certain,

In a far off place where hurt no longer remains,
