YOUR HIGHNESS
The hardest part is admitting I don’t love you anymore,
Not the way I did in yesterdays before,
And with every tomorrow the less I feel for you,
You’re just a vision that never seemed to come true,
Rather quite pretentious you are for someone alone,
I found you to have ostentatious and hollow undertones,
There was no humility in your analytical ways,
I was always wrong as you stared at me with that idiot gaze,
Self-confidence is one thing, but arrogance is ugly and crude,
You wore your crown in a fashion I found a bit prude,
What did you expect your highness, me to bow at your feet?
My modesty was your great conquer and defeat,
I rarely seen a smile upon your face,
Especially for someone who said they were finally in a happy place,
Was I merely the jester used to amuse you at the time?
You got your kicks and then some, dear friend of mine,
Oh, I’m sorry… your highness, I almost forgot to address you,
Well with a kiss of betrayal, I bid your majesty a fond adieu,
I guess it really isn’t so hard to admit that I don’t love you anymore,
Not the way I did in yesterdays before.
