TAKE ME AWAY

It is my desire to fly,

To where only angels defy,

I want to spread my wings,

And rejoice as the cherubs sing,

This is merely a journey I’m on,

In no way is it my final destination,

I believe in the Heaven above,

Where all that flows are rivers of love,

Take me away from this land,

Defaced by our own hand,

Where greed has gained control,

And the almighty dollar buys our soul,

Where no longer do we have a voice,

And weakened is the power of choice,

Take me away from where the righteous word,

Too often goes unheard,

There’s a paradise awaiting me,

This I truly believe to be,

A place where affliction does not reside,

Take me away to the new divide,

Take me away to where only angels defy,

Where with them I can spread my wings and fly.
