VICTORIOUS

Tonight I think about you,

As I often do,

I’m sure you’re snuggled in bed,

With thoughts of boys going through your head,

A teenager you are now,

My did the time fly somehow,

I hope that you now see,

Why things didn’t work out between your mother and me,

But you know that I loved you as my own,

And forever you’ll find in my heart a home,

If I could speak to you today,

Here are some things I’d say,

Don’t let your inherited naïve ways cloud your mind,

Trust in yourself and confidence you will find,

There will be people out to hurt you,

Ignore their ignorance and remain true,

Love sometimes is painful and sadly shallow,

But when you find it true, hold on to it for nothing is more hallow,

Devote yourself to causes that make a positive difference,

And remember people come from all walks of life, avoid judgmental ignorance,

Share your love with family and friends,

Let it be trustworthy and undeniable to the very end,

Grow up with a will that is strong,

And you’ll never find yourself along the path that is wrong,

These are just a few of the things I wanted you to know,

Never forget that I LOVE YOU, even though I had to go,

One last thing, avoid the notorious,

Be a champion, for there is a reason your name is Victorious.
