THROUGH YOU (I’VE FOUND MYSELF)

I’ve found myself through you,

You are so worth getting into,

I crave the days I see your smile,

A fattening of my soul makes this appetite worthwhile,

In just this short time you’ve taught me so much,

About the ways to approach life and such,

We both know there will be days down the road,

When something will leave one of us speechless and cold,

But always remember we each have the warmth of our hearts,

To break the frigid frictions of life apart,

We’ve shared each others heartaches,

And we know one anothers past mistakes,

We both have spent years on our own and alone,

And from all these things each of us have grown,

We’re no longer the products of immaturity we were in school,

We stand together as adults somewhat hardened by life’s fools,

Yet compassion is our strength as our two hearts melt,

Such strength in my emotions for you I’ve never before felt,

I always thought I knew it all,

That is until I began this fall,

You and a few words from the wise,

Have proven my arrogant thoughts otherwise,

It has taken years but now I truly know,

I knew nothing at all and will continue to grow,

We’ve nothing to hide,

In you I promise to always confide,

My thoughts, my fears,

My struggles, my cheers,

My hope is that you will do the same,

For matters of the heart is no game,

I mean it when I tell you that you amaze me,

And never before have I met someone with such inner and outer beauty,

A wondrous combination I must say,

I’m just beside myself that we have found our day,

And fortunate am I to have found myself through you,

Because I can’t imagine anyone else so worth getting into.
