Forgive me for losing you somewhere along the way,

I lost myself too throughout the years someway,

I felt the hurt in your heart with your final letter,

But only through the pain could you become better,

The same goes for me I guess,

For I’ve made strides in my own progress,

The shame is that we can’t see it first hand,

Here I am alone while you’re off in some distant land,

The worry in my words helped divide us apart,

And my daft actions fractured your heart,

Somewhere out there you learned to love again,

Somewhere within me is an endless pain,

That reminds me of the mistakes I have made,

In love and the death of a life I’d give anything to trade,

For a new one with you,

God, if you only knew,

You helped me live and learn,

The greatest lesson is that mistakes we cannot return,

On these lonely nights I do miss you,

What we shared was pure and true,
