IN YOUR HANDS
I give you this heart to hold within your hands,
In you I trust and that your promises stand,
The scars are from days long passed,
Don’t cry for me, finally in a safe place it is at last,
I feel it everyday it’s always been the same,
But for much of the pain I am to blame,
I’ve played the part of the fool, the jester,
Often letting my emotions get the best of me as they fester,
So please don’t weep,
For the battered heart you now keep,
My love, my friend,
In your hands it will mend,
Continue to grow in wisdom I will,
And those mistakes you will never feel,
For I bring to you,
A life renewed,
A fresh start,
From all matters, including the heart,
Our pasts are now just history lessons,
I swear to confide in you all my confessions,
For there will be nothing to hide,
Between us, we will share what’s inside,
This is the way it has to be, it must,
For in your hands is my heart that I entrust.
