FOOTSTEPS IN THE SNOW (The Leanne Lloyd Edition)

FOOTSTEPS IN THE SNOW (The Leanne Lloyd Edition)

Footsteps in the snow,

Two become one, but where did they go?

You and I were traipsing through the winter glory,

Holding gloved hands telling each other our story,

Walking along the half frozen creek,

When you muttered, “Let’s play hide and seek”,

I eagerly obliged,

Except with an ardent red coat it was hard to hide,

For you found me with great ease,

Then I tackled you to the snow while playfully begging please,

“Please don’t ever hurt me?”

I said I’d never let that be,

Face to face upon a snowy bed,

I gazed into your green, gorgeous eyes then kissed your forehead,

We made snow angels for what seemed like hours,

Side by side, this winter wonderland was merely ours,

You said, “Let’s go back inside. I need to warm up.”

I replied, “Okay, for I’d go for some hot cocoa in my favorite mug.”

We began our trek back to the cabin to call it a day,

Throwing snowballs at each other along the way,

But the footsteps in the snow,

Two became one, where did the other go?

As we trudged through the mounting snow,

I swept her up into my arms and off into the evening we strode.
