YOUTH OF YESTERDAY

YOUTH OF YESTERDAY

We are the youth of yesterday,

But have we done enough for the children of today?

Like the generation before us,

Are we giving them false perceptions in which to trust?

Intolerance, ignorance and these alike they must face,

Somehow, someway we must unite to make this world a better place,

So stigmas don’t bring about another teen suicide,

And that from self expression do they need to no longer hide.

No more can we look the other way,

And put the foolishness in terms of child’s play,

This is the future of those we cherish most,

The past and its ways has become a folly’s ghost,

So let’s open our ears to what they have to say,

Together we can find a better way,

Remember what is was like when our youth of yesterday called us stupid?

We weren’t… only misled.

Now we are the youth of yesterday,

So let’s do more for our children of today.
