SICK HEART

SICK HEART

I am lost,

To find my way at what cost,

What toll must I pay,

In order to find my way?

I’ve been to the edge and back,

Yet mettle I often lack,

I must let go,

And be assured to know,

The skeletons of the past,

Have been buried at last,

People tell me,

The change they see,

But I’ve built up fears,

Over the years,

They restrain me,

They confine me,

I’ll never be who I once was,

Shame for I know the cause,

Seems forever I am on my own,

Damned by my mistakes alone,

This sick heart cries out tonight,

This just isn’t right,

I’m still waiting on my second chance,

Loneliness is my circumstance,

The sun comes up each day,

Yet I’m still lost along my way.
