FOR JAN

FOR JAN

I love your big bright smile,

You should show it more than just once in a while,

It illuminates the room, just ask your family and friends,

Along with your laugh it’s a joy that never ends.

I love how protective you are of me,

My being the oldest should not the roles reversed be?

But that’s okay, I know you’ve always got my back,

And you seem to know how to keep me along the right track,

I love being the uncle to your two beautiful kids,

Even though the oldest sometimes makes me want to blow my lid,

Regardless, I love them as if they were my own,

Their love for me means I’ll never be alone,

But most of all, I love you for being yourself,

I know life hasn’t been easy as adults for you or myself,

However, we keep on marching on the best we can,

I love being your big brother, and I’m thankful for my little sister Jan.
