CAT AND MOUSE

CAT AND MOUSE

This is a twisted tale of a boy and girl once in love,

That is until her agenda she began to shove,

In his unwilling face,

What once was a happy home became a tormented place,

As you read this story it becomes more metaphorically morbid,

And follows the lives of two souls caught in affairs so sordid,

The boy caught up in his own addictions,

Found himself no longer able to deal with life’s conflictions,

For his judgment was impaired by the pills he’d pop,

She begged and pleaded for him to stop,

Yet at the same time gave in to his manipulative ways,

Enabling him to remain in his stupor and constant daze,

She never believed he suffered from an underlying disease,

Simply put she said he was “a piece of shit” if you please,

Thus began the war, one of tactics to pierce the heart,

She’d send him away then beg to no longer be apart,

For months they’d stab each other’s backs and try to break each other down,

Turning and twisting the knife, then apologize with a sad frown,

Then one day the boy ripped the heart out from the girl’s chest,

Finally he had enough of his ways, as well as hers, and wanted what was best,

He ran far away leaving her in tears,

All he could say was “You’re just as guilty in this my dear.”

Months past, and a late night call he did receive,

She said “I’ve tried but there’s no one but you I can love I truly believe.”

This game of cat and mouse went on for over a year you see,

Until one day the boy decided to be a man and never again so naïve.
