FOR MOM & DAD

I won’t pretend to excuse myself for things I’ve put you through,

There are so many thanks I owe to the both of you,

You have always been there for me,

Despite my struggles you’ve always seen the good that I can be,

Your example of love inspires us all,

Why do think I’m always eager to take that fall?

It’s because I want that best friend you have in each other,

I am proud to have such a loving father and mother.

The two of you have given so much to me,

And for that enough of my gratitude you may not see,

But it’s there and it’s true.

With every prayer I say, I start off by thanking God for you,

For where would I be without you, I wouldn't want to know,

You’ve given so much of yourselves so that I may grow,

Grow to be the kind of man you’d be proud of,

There’s been many times I’ve let you down, but still you show me love.

You take me as I am and I’m grateful for that,

You believe in me, so with that being said I love you Mom and Dad.
