IN SEARCH OF HEDONISM
There are times I get the crazy notion to run,
Trying to find my place under the sun,
I want leave the last fifteen years a distant behind,
And start anew with a positive outlook and sober mind,
Leave all that is thought of me at bay,
While the real me flees the opposite way,
In search of the hedonistic view,
For once some diversion from the hell I’ve been through,
I want to know of a day with no more sorrow,
Seeking a refuge where I can expect more from tomorrow,
Love and laughter are the true pleasures,
By no other means should life be measured,
Some might say,
I’m just a silly boy, who has lost his way,
Let them think what they want,
Call me a fool, call me a deviant,
None of what you say matters anymore,
I don’t take it to heart like once before,
One of these days I’ll realize my notion,
And be somewhere undistracted by all your commotion,
Watch me… someday I’m going to run,
And I’ll find my place under the sun.
