FOREVER

It never was my desire to live forever,

Yet something changed the day we came together,

When I’m with you I don’t want the days to end,

You’ve become more than a lover, you’re my best friend,

Until you, I never wanted to grow old,

I prayed my time be short in this world so cold,

But you came along and warmed my heart,

A true distinction that sets you apart,

From anything I’ve ever known,

Somehow a seed was planted and from it love has grown,

It’d be foolish of me to ask why,

Why your love for me you do not deny,

Thankful and blessed I am for you,

You take me for who I am, that’s a love ever so true,

Unfortunately, mortality has a expiration date,

Thus not allowing us to escape fate,

But if fate led me to you,

Believe in it, I will, through and through,

Like I said, it was never my desire to live forever,

Yet something changed the day we came together,

So until forever ends,

My love for you shall never bend.
