MY BUDDY GARRETT

Almost seven years ago came into this world a baby boy,

One this family needed to bring back some joy,

That we had lost the month before,

And in his eyes joy we found that’s for sure,

We’ve watched him grow up so fast through these years,

Shared many of laughs and wiped away all his tears,

He is my Pop’s right hand man,

And Maw-Maw’s lightning bolt in a can,

He will always be number one to his mother,

And to his baby sister he’s her protective big brother.

To me he’s more than a nephew, he’s my buddy, my friend,

I hope it always remains that way until my days end,

You see there’s something special about my nephew,

He may be unruly at times but loving and caring describes him too,

I would give and do anything for this little guy,

Without any hesitations or asking why,

I would do anything for him out of love,

Because my little buddy Garrett is an angel sent from above.
