ON MY OWN

ON MY OWN

As I sit here perched above the world below,
I see all these people roaming around,
In a scurry to get back to those they love and know.
Saddens me that I’ve yet to be found.

I’m on my own and I don’t want to be,
I know the cliché of how love will find you when expected the least,
I’m on my own hoping someone will find me.
Maybe I should just give up and never dine on love’s feast.

Someone just look up, for here I am,
Ready this time to wrap my arms around something real,
Ready to savor every moment with you that I can,
Trust in me and heartache you’ll never feel.

Just wanting a life of love and smiles,
Maybe I’m a dreamer but I’ll keep dreaming until I awake beside you.
Loving someone, isn’t that what makes life worthwhile?
And when love finds me I will promise to share it all with you.

I’m on my own and there’s no need for it to be,
There’s millions of hearts like mine just wanting the same as me.
