To my hero:
Fallen, yet not forgotten your memory remains true.
This world, our lives, everything is better because of you.
Time is precious, and the winds of change blow fast.
This is a lesson I have come to finally know, at last.
Since you left, I have missed the laughter and the joy.
The same laughter and love you had given me since I was a boy.
I am older now, and I realize what you had brought.
Many of life's lessons from you I was taught.
Ever since the day you left us, my life's had a hole...
But with each day now I think of you and your memory is healing
my soul.
Now I must look toward what's ahead of me in this life,
and hold on to the fact that a piece of you will always be
within me, and I can fight off this strife.
Fight it like a "Red Devil" and confront head on the enemies
in my mind.
Then at last maybe the confusion of life will be at ease
and to me peace will find;
Find its way into the depths of the moments of each ever
changing day.
But before I go, there are just a few things I need to say.
Thanks for the father you've helped give to me.
You gave everything you had in your heart, and in him
is you; I can clearly see.
Thanks for being the kind of man you were.
Knowing you made us all better people that I am for sure.
Grandpa, my hero.... I salute you,
and when the Lord says it's finally my time, please be there to
greet me for I might not know what to do.
But until that day arrives, your loving memory will always be
in my heart to stay.
I know this to be true, Hero's may fall... but they never fade away.
